(also sent via email)

There are five days left in the $75,000 Illinois Open Technology Challenge. If you are planning to make a submission, and are waiting until the very last minute to do so, I urge you to reconsider your strategy.

The deadline is Friday, March 29, 2013 at 11:59 PM (CST). My suggestion is that you make your submission sometime this week. An advantage to this is if there’s a major issue with the submission (for instance, if it fails to use one of the approved dataset or does not have a valid URL where judges can view the submission), you will have time to re-submit.

If you aren’t in a position to submit early, contact us directly via email at info@illinoisopentech.org and let us know informally what you’re up to. The people who receive these emails— me, Alya Adamany, and Marlene Ho— are the same people who have attended all the meetups and have met with you personally. We will keep your ideas in confidence.

We will certainly not be able to give you any feedback on the quality of your submission, but we would be happy to validate that your submission meets the requirements of the Challenge.
